Mysterious Himachal

Land of God & Faith

Kharapathar – Perfect Leisure Destination

Khara Pathar – a leisure destination in the magnificent Himalayas at a height of about 8,770ft above the sea level and is surrounded by apple orchards and lush green forest. Kharapathar derived its name from a huge egg shaped rock. Khara Pathar village is located in Jubbal Tehsil of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh, India.

This place is well connected from Shimla and recently the new widened road is laid. It is approximately 70 KMs from Shimla. This is a paradise for nature lovers. Place is quite and away from crowd.

Kharapathar is a hotspot for tourists because of its natural beauty and picturesque landscape in Shimla  district. Kharapathar stands in the midst of an area covered with thick forests of Himalayan cedar (deodar) and apple orchards. This little village is on the highway that leads to Jubbal, Hatkoti and Rohru and commands a majestic view of the deep valley.

GIRI GANGA : The hike to Giri Ganga (7 km) is an enjoyable one through thick deodar woods. This is the source of the river Giri Ganga (also called the Giri) that rises just below the Kuppar peak. The river pours its waters into the mighty Yamuna and there is a small shrine at the spot.
